Welcome and changes to the Family!

Our regular blogger, Warren Schmidt is taking a much-deserved vacation, so today’s offering is not a traditional look at family, but rather how the Board of Directors has added and made some adjustments to the Lutheran Heritage Center and Museum family.

Although Gerard Fiehler has been working at the Museum for years, he has a new official title. Gerard has been named the Museum “Archivist.” Gerard will continue in his work of accessions, collecting information, and organizing and preserving records and archives. If you have ever visited the Museum, you know that Gerard loves to share and explore the history of families! Few people know more about the history of the area families than our Archivist, Gerard Fiehler. Please come and visit the Research Library and discover more about or add to the story of your family!

As the Board continues its search for a permanent Museum Director, they have contracted Carla Fiehler Grebing to serve as Development Director. Carla and her husband, Kent Grebing, recently moved back “home” to Perry County and have immersed themselves in the rich area culture and community. Carla comes to the museum with a strong business and organizational background. She will be working in donor relations, communication and marketing, docent relations and gift shop management. Carla is humbled to be working with the Board to further the message of preserving and promoting the the history of the community and especially the German Lutheran Immigration to Perry County.

As you can see, the Lutheran Heritage Center and Museum is well-positioned to continue in its mission to the immediate community and beyond with these additions and changes. We ask that you join us in prayer for our ministry and its future. God is faithful and holds us in the palm of His hand…to God be the Glory!

  1. You all are doing such a wonderful job, not only with the Museum, which I got to visit once and will do again. Your newsletters and stories about families are very enlightening and entertaining. Say “hi” to Gerard and to Kent. We were in grade school around the same time.
