The Alpha Couple in the Amschler Family Tree

It is a travel day for me, so I am going to republish this old story that was written on this day in 2021. It was written on that day because the highlighted Amschler pair got married on July 10, 1853. They were married at Peace Lutheran Church and would then go on to have 12 children who carried the Amschler name. That surname would spread throughout Perry County in Missouri and over the river into Jackson County, Illinois.

Anna Lang arrived in America in 1840, and her future husband arrived 10 years later in 1850. Our German Family Tree lists 11 children born to this couple, but a photo from the Amschler family Bible displayed in the original post shows 12. The GFT only includes one of the twins who were born in 1875.

Denise Hellwege, our museum director, should be writing tomorrow’s post, and I will be back to finding documentation in our research library for Saturday’s story. I have thoroughly enjoyed spending some family time with kids, grandkids, and grandpuppies, but I am also anxious to get back into my normal routine back in Altenburg.
