Museum Musings for Friday, January 23

As I continue to play catch-up after a very personally chaotic past two months, today’s post is a repeat—one originally written by Warren. When I went searching the archive for posts connected to the word “snow,” I’m not entirely sure why this one surfaced, but I’m glad it did. It caught my attention because it’s one of his historical pieces rather than a strictly genealogical one, and it touches on an event I hope to incorporate into our expanded exhibit on the immigration that helps place it in the broader history of the United States.

If you’re wondering why I initially searched for the word “snow,” I’m guessing you don’t live in the pink area of this map!

We are supposed to get walloped with snow over the weekend, so we will most likely be closed at least tomorrow and Sunday, if not into early next week.
