I will be telling the story of a couple who would be celebrating a wedding anniversary today. Since that wedding took place at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, its church record made its way into our German Family Tree. I will begin by looking at the bride because she is the one whose whole family … More Henry and Mary – Lixville Leonard’s
I thought I found another woman with a special birthday for today’s tale, but I now think that is not the case. Now, I do not think she was born on this date at all. However, I invested too much time gathering all the documents that I decided to write the story anyway. In one … More Bahner (or Boehner)/Lix Couple in Arnsberg
A year ago, on February 10th, I wrote the story, Judge Louis LIX, because Louis Lix was celebrating a wedding anniversary. In my own goofy way, I related the name Lix with the fact that it was about the time of Super Bowl LIX. Now, lo and behold, on February 10th this year, I have … More Henry and Mary – Lixville Pioneers
Now that we have the books of Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim included in our German Family Tree, I have been finding quite a few stories to write about people with the surname, Kester. His baptism record from the books of … More Henry and Hannah – Lixville Bangert’s
Today’s story begins in St. Louis, but ends up in Bollinger County, and the highlighted couple is buried in Friedheim. We will begin with the birthday girl. Marie Louise Mathilde Moeller was born on June 9, 1860, thus making today her 165th birthday. Mathilda was the daughter of Christian and Louise (Sewing) Moeller. She was … More Friedheim/Lixville Bangert’s
Our story begins with a birthday girl. Catherine Wilhelmine Bangert was born on May 4, 1865, so today would be her 160th birthday. Wilhelmine was the daughter of Wilhelm and Catherine (Eichmeier) Bangert. Our German Family Tree added a bunch of Bangert records fairly recently after the records for Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim were … More Friedheim Girl Marries Jefferson Davis
Yesterday, millions of people watched Super Bowl LIX….or Super Bowl #59. In the midst of researching for this story of a man named Louis Lix, I had one of those “smack my head” moments. I realized the Super Bowl included the name Lix. That got my crazy brain moving in another direction. First, I wondered … More Judge Louis LIX
The information shown below from our German Family Tree is the starting point for today’s story. It is what we find for a woman named Carolina Lix. As you can see, there is not much to work with. The birth date for Caroline Lix is quite debatable. Her gravestone is engraved with the birthday of November 5, 1866. Her … More Lixville Klemp’s

I am going to begin with his parents, Jacob and Nettie (Arnold) Mecker. There is a story in the Mecker family that says Jacob Mecker was a stowaway on the … More Mecker Mates
