It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

It’s that time of the year. We prepare our museum for the upcoming Christmas season. Each year, we open our annual display of Christmas trees on or around November 15th. In order to make that happen, we have to start the process of getting that exhibit ready prior to that date. So, today, we began. For quite a few years now, we have been blessed by having students from the Altenburg Public School who come to our aid. Rather than have our rather seasoned folks carry the trees and tubs up from our basement, these youngsters with strong muscles and backs take our place and do the job. Big thanks go out to these wonderful students.

I am going to display some photos taken showing these wonderful pupils in action.

Here are a few before and after pics. First, the Main Gallery.

Next, the new South Gallery.

And a tip of the Santa cap to the designer of this year’s exhibit, Sally Buerck.

Next week, the decorating begins. Plan now to visit us sometime from November 15 – January 16. It will be magical.
