A Nebraska Builder

I am back in Altenburg from our trip to Seward, but I will once again publish a post written several years ago. I guess I need time to decompress. Plus, I ran across a woman who was born on July 14, 1891. I immediately knew that I had previously told the story of Theodora Fiehler who married John Mueller. I also knew that those two are buried in a cemetery in Seward, Nebraska. I even discussed this couple’s story with a few people during our college reunion. So, I decided to re-blog this article today. If I was writing the story today, I would include quite a few more documents, but it was written during my early years of working on this blog. For example, I found this couple in the 1950 census, just one page away from Alfred Fuerbringer, the president of Concordia, Seward and Walter Hellwege, a geography teacher, both of which had connections to our Perry County area. There are a lot of building projects going on at Concordia right now. Perhaps if John Mueller was still alive, he would be participating as a building contractor.
