I just could not resist re-publishing an old post today. This story was written in 2017 about Johann Fuerchtegott Schuricht. Today marks his bicentennial birthday. I did not even mention his birthday, July 22, 1823, in that previous post. Even though it seems that he was called John in many documents, I called him Fuerchtegott in that story. That is probably because it is easy to confuse him with his older brother, Johann Traugott Schuricht. So, today we say “Happy 200th Birthday” to J.F. Schuricht, operator of the Saxony Mills.
