I am on the road today. This time, instead of re-posting an old story, I’m going to write a simple post. Not long ago, we discovered a book at our museum that we had not seen before. We were not sure what it was. This book consisted of a list of people and where they were from. It looked like a guest book that you might see in the narthex of a church. We eventually came to the conclusion that it was a guest book that must have been located inside the Log Cabin College. It gave people who visited the cabin an opportunity to document the fact that they were there.

I am going to display what I consider to be an amazing amount of pages that were all recorded on June 18, 1938. There are 17 pages full of people who must have visited the Log Cabin College on that day. What was happening? It must have been a special day to celebrate 100 years since the Stephanite immigration began in Germany in 1838. I am guessing that some special events took place on that day, and many more people than normal visited the site of the first Lutheran Seminary west of the Mississippi River.

This list contains a lot of folks from close by…from Altenburg, Frohna, Uniontown, Farrar, etc. There was also a large collection of people from all over the country…even a few from India. Among those, there was an amazing number of pastors.
