Sorry folks. A granddaughter’s tap dance lesson takes precedence over blogging today.

Five years ago, this story about a man called the “Plant Guy” was published on October 14th. I have heard many older local folks say that Ferdie Oehlert was about the only person in this area that provided tomato seedlings for their gardens. I also have been told that Ferdie was the one who determined which variety of tomato plant was going to be best for the people of this community, and that was the only variety that he sold.

Just a side note. Have you ever looked at the Blog Stats counter located on our website? As I write this, the count stands at 945,000+ hits that we have had since our museum began a new website in 2016 when this blog was begun. I’m keeping an eye on it because I want to celebrate when we get to 1 million hits. I wish I could tell exactly which of our readers would be our “One Millionth Viewer”. I encourage you to keep “hitting” us.
