Stueve Girls’ Double Wedding

I am sharing two old posts today (actually four) because I have some driving to do. The two posts involve a pair of sisters, Ernestine and Maria Stueve, who were both married on August 14, 1890. That means today would be the 134th wedding anniversary for each of these sisters. Attached to this post is the article that was posted on this blog back on August 14th back in 2021. That post focused on the marriage made up of Emanuel Thurm and Ernestine Stueve. Another post was written on February 23, 2020 about Heinrich Pilz marrying Ernestine’s sister, Maria. You can read that story by clicking on the link below.

There were actually 3 Stueve sisters, and this photo of those 3 has been displayed on this blog before. The photo is not captioned, so I cannot tell you who’s who.

The sister who was not part of the double wedding in1890 was Margaretha Stueve, and she had married Benjamin Hecht on November 25, 1886. Margaretha’s story was written on September 27, 2017. You can read that post by clicking on this link.

All 3 of the Stueve girls’ weddings took place at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altenburg.

I cannot resist also resharing another old post about Claus Stueve who was married to Margaret Steffens. Because the 3 Stueve sisters lost both their parents in the 1870’s, they were raised by their Uncle Claus. His amazing story was told in the post, Stueve-Steffens – The Threequel. What are the chances of 3 straight generations in the Stueve family tree that have a Stueve marrying a Steffens?
