Museum Musings for Friday, October 11

It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of the second week of October already. The weather definitely doesn’t betray that fact, at least not yet. As time marches on, if you haven’t had a chance to come and see our display “Wittenberg, Tower Rock & the Mississippi River,” now is the time! You only have three more weeks. If you will be in the area tomorrow for Saxon Lutheran Memorial’s Fall Festival, this would be the perfect change; the museum will be open from 10:00-4:00.

After November 1st, we will begin to pack away all things river to make room for the Christmas trees. As usual, the Christmas Tree Exhibit will open on November 15th and run through January 15th. This year’s theme is “Ring Christmas Bells! Tell All the World, Jesus Is King.”

Before that, though, we will be hosting a Reformation Hymn Sing on Sunday, October 27th at 2:00 pm. This event will feature Tyson Wunderlich playing the Wittenberg organ recently donated to the museum (read more about it here).

We are looking forward to hosting many groups in the coming weeks, both adults and school groups. However, we always have room for more! Consider us as you make your fall and winter plans. We’re open everyday 10-4 and admission is free. See you soon!
