“Perry County, Missouri: Immigration and War in America and Overseas”

We are so pleased to announce that there will be an Immigration History Conference in 2021!

The dates for our biennial conference have been set for October 28-30, 2021. This will be our sixth conference. Through the years, we have explored everything from “Altenburg: Home Is Where Our Story Begins” to “Beyond the Beginnings: The Perry County German-Lutheran Immigration in a Wider World” to “Tales of Tears Turned to Triumph.”

When you attend our conference, you will be treated to a wonderful schedule of presentations. This year’s gathering will include a Military Focus, a German Immigration Focus, a Genealogical Focus and a Family History Focus. Please see the information sheet below for more details.

Our conference is an all-inclusive package. Your $250.00 conference fee includes all conference sessions and materials. No partial attendance rates will be offered. You will be treated to home-cooked meals and entertainment each day. Our traditional Saturday evening “Formal Banquet with Informal Attire” will feature Dr. Bill Eddleman, a retired Southeast Missouri State University professor and Associate Director of the State of Missouri Historical Society in Cape Girardeau. He is also the President of the State of Missouri Genealogical Society. Among many other distinguished speakers and presenters, we will feature works by noted artist, Dan Woodward. Mr. Woodward’s exhibit will mostly feature paintings featuring the Civil War west of the Mississippi River.

As always, your conference fee includes 1:1 family research assistance. Our valued Zion Roots Research Library continues to grow in content and value.

We are also most excited to share with you that we will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration of the expansion of our facility!

To register for our conference, please go to our CONFERENCE 2021 tab on the website and note the two-step process for registration. If you have any questions, please contact the Museum at 573-824-6070 and ask for Development Director, Carla Grebing. She will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Here at the Museum, we thank God for His years of many blessings and ask that you join us in thanking Him for our heritage and for His favor for our future!

We look forward to having you join us in October…we’ve missed you!
