I have a few other projects to work on today, so I am just going to share an old story. This post was published back in 2016 when I was a rookie at the blogging game, and my posts were much shorter. This story has personal significance because the ship, Republik, that left Germany on November 12, 1838 carried my Schmidt ancestors. Today also marks the 185th anniversary of that ship’s departure.
