I am publishing an old story again today. This one was not written by me, but by our previous museum director, Carla Jordan. I am by no means an expert in the art department, but Carla is. She wrote this post about a piece of art that is part of the Christmas history at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg. The historic triptych that once adorned the Trinity altar around Christmastime is still displayed in our museum each year on the old altar that was once part of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wittenberg. If you get to visit our museum this year to view our annual Christmas exhibit, make sure you stop in the “Old Church” gallery to view this special work of art. Also, if you find yourself in Jackson, Missouri, consider stopping by the Cape Girardeau County History Center to visit Carla. She and her crew at that site also have a special Christmas exhibit every year.
