Things are pretty rosy on the blog these days. Yesterday, I wrote about a woman named Rosette. Today’s birthday girl is named Rosina. Rosina Caroline Schroeder was born on November 19, 1895, thus making today her 130th birthday. Rosina was the daughter of Christoph and Marie (Wilke) Schroeder. She was the 9th and last child in this Schroeder family and baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. We can take a look at Rosina’s baptism record here.

Rosina is found in the 1900 census at the age of 5. Her father was a farmer in the Apple Creek Township.

When the 1910 census was taken, Rosina was a teenager. She had been confirmed at Trinity, Friedheim in 1909. This time, her father was called a blacksmith.

Rosina would get married during the next decade, so we will now take a look at the man who would become her husband. His name was John August Kaiser, who was born on June 25, 1892. John was the son of Henry and Anna (Brickhaus) Kaiser. Like was the case with Rosina, John was the last child born in his family. For some unknown reason, John’s baptism record is not included in our German Family Tree, but I went to look for it in the Trinity, Friedheim books, and I found it. That record is displayed here.

John is found in the 1900 census at the age of 7. John’s father was a farmer in the Apple Creek Township.

Next, we find John in the 1910 census at the age of 17. He was the only remaining Kaiser child still living with his parents. John was helping his father on his farm.

John Kaiser married Rosina Schroeder on June 3, 1917 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. The books of that congregation have two different marriage records for this pair.

I will also display 2 different civil marriage records for this couple.

John Kaiser had his World War I draft registration completed in 1917, and his form says it was completed on June 5th, which was just 2 days after his wedding. His father had died in 1914, and this document says that John has a dependent wife and mother.

John and Rosina have 2 children listed in our German Family Tree, both boys. Each of them was baptized at Trinity, Friedheim. In the 1920 census, the Kaiser’s were living with John’s mother and a brothers. The first son of John and Rosina was in this entry also. His mother is called a farmer, but it is likely that John and his brother were doing the farming.

The 1930 census lists John as the head of the Kaiser household. Both sons and John’s mother were included in this entry, along with a niece named Ada Ruch. John was no longer called a farmer. This time, he was called a painter and papering.

John and Rosina’s household in the 1940 census once again included both sons and John’s widowed mother. John is given the occupation of a painter.

The last census the public can view is the one taken in 1950. Just one single son was still living with his parents. John’s mother had died in 1941. John still had the same occupation.

Rosina Kaiser died in 1959 at the age of 63. Heart disease is given as the cause of death on her death certificate shown below.

John Kaiser died in 1976 at the age of 83. Right now, we can only view Missouri death certificates up until 1974, so we cannot view the one for John. Both John and Rosina Kaiser are buried in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Friedheim.

John and Rosina Kaiser can be included in the list of couples that have been characters on this blog that were each born, baptized, confirmed, married, raised a family, died, and were buried while being members of the same congregation. This pair happens to be one of those couples who were members of the church in Friedheim.
