I can speak honestly when I say that I had a great time at the East Perry Community Fair yesterday. Having said that, I also confess that I did not do a great job of trying to document it with photos. I did get some help from my wife who got some good photos of yesterday’s parade. She even got great views of Trinity Lutheran Church and our Lutheran Heritage Center & Museum because she was positioned right across the street. I will be showing a few galleries of these pictures. First, since I was helping with the organization of the parade, I took some photos while the folks were gathering for that event.

Next, here are some of the pictures taken by my wife.

I am going to place some of the blame for my unsatisfactory photographic efforts on two things. The first one is fair food. I was spending some of my time sampling the wonderful variety of food that is available. I almost always start with the traditional fried fish and move on from there.

Secondly, I really enjoyed seeing my cousin, Larry, and his wife. We do not get enough opportunities to visit with each other, and we had a lot to catch up on. I am sure there are plenty of such reunions of relatives going on at the fair every year.

We’re off to a great beginning here in Altenburg for Day 2. The Lord blessed us with a gorgeous sunrise. It should be another beautiful day.

Perhaps I will do better at gathering photos today. Of course, the best way to experience our fair is not with my photos, but by experiencing the fair by actually being here.
