Join us at the Lutheran Heritage Center in Altenburg, Sunday Oct. 22 at 7 p.m., 75 Church Street, for our Autumn Gathering/ Historical Society Meeting with Rev. Dr. Frederic W. Baue, a pastor emeritus of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, author, and renowned musician. Rev. Dr. Baue has deep roots in Perry County. He is writing a series of fictional books with Perry County, Missouri as the setting. His talk on Sunday is entitled, “Redemptive Fiction: Reflections of a Lutheran Storyteller.” His first novel, “The Pilgrim” will be available, and the meeting will include a musician’s circle with regional “pickers” and vocalists–a good old traditional circle sing-a-long. Baue has been known to play musical accompaniment with LCMS President Matthew C. Harrison. Refreshments will be provided. What a wonderful way to trumpet in this 500th Anniversary of the Reformation season! You do not have to be a member to join us. A free admission evening of excellence!
