Happy Independence Day Eve!
I hope you are able to some time with family and friends this holiday weekend. That’s what we’ve been doing all week, and it has been great.
I’m happy to announce that our new exhibit Faith and Freedom: Church Picnics through the Years is officially open.

Come relive the excitement of Fourth of July celebrations and summertime church picnics from years gone by. From baseball games and band concerts to candy, sno cones, and all the traditions that made these gatherings special, you’re sure to find something that brings back fond memories. Share those memories with your children, grandchildren, and friends as you take a step back in time and rediscover the sights, sounds, and spirit of summers past.
As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we can also give thanks for those who came before us—those who recognized the blessings of liberty and were willing to make extraordinary sacrifices to secure them for themselves and future generations.
May we never take for granted the freedoms we enjoy, and may we continue to cherish both the civil liberties that make our nation strong and the freedom to gather around God’s Word.
From all of us at the Lutheran Heritage Center & Museum, we wish you and your family a safe, joyful, and blessed Independence Day!
Until next week! Denise Hellwege, Director
