February 2, 1822 was the birthday of Rev. Carl Johann Hermann Fick.  Rev. Fick was a charter member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.  His congregation in New Melle, Missouri was also one of only two churches in Missouri to become a charter member of the LCMS.  Rev. Fick also served congregations in Bremen, MO, Collinsville, IL, and Boston, MA.  The church in the photo is St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Melle, MO, which is located in St. Charles County.
