In the attached post that was written back in 2017, it said that Gottlob Grebing married Lucia Preusser on May 26, 1895 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg. I am sharing that story again today because it is the 130th wedding anniversary for this couple. Back in 2017, I did not include as many documents in my posts on this blog. In the story about Gottlob and Lucia, I did not include any census records or church records. I am not going to include all the potential records in this post either, but I will display some marriage records. First, here is the marriage record for this couple from the books of Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg.

I can also display two different civil documents for this event. First, here is this pair’s Missouri marriage license.

We can also view this marriage certificate for that occasion. You can see on these civil documents that it was Rev. Roesener who performed the marriage rites.

Even though I am not going to display all of this couple’s census entries over the years, I can tell you that they spent their entire lives living in Altenburg. The attached post includes past photos of Gottlob’s saddle shop and the Grebing home. It also includes some more recent photos of what those buildings look like.
Both Gottlob and Lucia lived long lives. Gottlob died at the age of 96, and Lucia died at the age of 99. These two lived long enough for them to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary in 1960. Gottlob and Lucia are buried together in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Altenburg.

In case you are wondering, the Saddle Shop still stands in downtown Altenburg.
